Description

Imagine being the only survivor of a disease that kills every member of your family; that kills friends, lovers, nearly everyone you have ever met . . . You are among the lonely few to live, and now you must survive in a strange new world where things that were once safe are made disturbing and unsafe — it's our own world, but recycled, reimagined, and reused. Set in the present day, Survivors focuses on the world in the aftermath of a devastating virus which wipes out most of the world's population. What would we do? How would any of us cope in a brave new world where all traditional 21st-century comforts — electricity, clean running water, advanced technology — have disappeared? These are the questions asked of the band of survivors in this thrilling new action adventure written by Adrian Hodges. It is a re-imagining of the classic seventies BBC drama series and is based on the novel by Terry Nation.

  • A True Gem!

Wow. Don't see how I missed this before. This is an absolutely intense end of the world drama. I often hear it called "the Walking Dead minus the Zombies" and that is not far off. What this series has over TWD is that it stays truer to the kinds of things people must do in such a scenario. I.E. they actually spend time foraging and such issues take centaur stage to the storyline. It doesn't take long and you feel yourself caring about the people…at east it had that effect on me and I am known for my resistance to such things! Extra kudos go to Max Beesley's portrayal of "Tom". This is so well played that I can hardly describe it. You never really know what Tom is thinking, but you know that whatever it is he is thinking it! Is he a bad guy? a good guy? both? At anyrate, very well done so far….now, off to season 2!

We randomly started watching this show, not knowing what it was. Its very good and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Ive come to love the characters and am very excited everytime I watch another episode. I wish more people would know about this show and how fabulous it is.
  • It's also VERY British!

We watch this as a family and discuss the implications and reactions of the characters - most of the time we cringe at Abbey (does she *get* the world has ended?!?) and can say the American version would be much grittier, dirtier, and with lots more guns. It seems the Brits keep on going being nauseatingly polite, Socialist, and clueless even after the world has died!
  • ok so...
