Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.

  • Waste of time

It’s like someone made a movie that had a sick mind and guilt of being a racist. Two stories being told that don’t make sense being together. Clooney has lost it.

Except for his role in The Martian, which anyone could have played, Matt seems to be sliding downhill in his latest middle finger to conservative America, with Clooney enabling him. It's unbelievably unfunny, and Clooney's sell-through date as a director seems to have expired. Oscar Isaac knows better than to do something like this. He's worthy of much better material. Julianne Moore continues to be unbelievably bland and fails to infuse many of her latest characters with anything resembling energy or life. Pass.

Not sure why the negative reviews for this movie. I enjoyed it. It’s definitely worth a watch.
  • Sad directoral debut

Sorry George, we love your acting, we love the choices you make (usually), and we love the Coen brothers too. Together we figured a sure-fire hit - but what happened? This is garbage. It has no redeeming value and it butchered the credibility of good actors. The script was a hideous mishmash of weak cliches, none of which worked, and then edited together like a patchwork quilt. Perhaps it didn’t help that we watched this after several weeks of Academy screeners, tough competition to be sure, but if this is a direction that you want to pursue, just look at that vast catalogue that made you who you are, and perhaps start with something that won’t alienate your fans.
  • Bad is a step up

Could only make it throught the first 30 minutes and had to stop. Why did I waste 30 minutes at all or my money on this?!?! Terrible would a be a difinite step up. Paint drying would be more entertaining.

I don’t want to say much about this movie other then it was a strange political statement movie with extremely bad writing! It has a horrible plot, there is no point to anything in the movie really, don’t be fooled by the trailer, in no way is this a comedy!!!
  • Good Fargo like movie

    By Thank you Mr. Jobs
In a time of social justice overload people need to have a sense of humor. This movie had some laugh out loud moments but some very twisted ones too. If you liked the movie or tv show Fargo you would probably like this. Not what I expected but was a pleasant surprise.

Clooney should be ashamed of himself for allowing this movie to see the light of day. They bring in a racial component that serves no purpose.
  • Not a comedy

I figured it would be odd but it was really odd. I’m not really into dramas and that’s what I would call this. Between the reviews of this movie and the movie itself- just a total downer. This movie was never going to make an impact on the people it was marketed to.
